Fund Raising Program (Jaipur, Delhi)

RPPA is organizing a fund raising program in Jaipur and Delhi. This program is specifically meant to raise fund its rehabilitation program focusing on improving mental health of drug users and counseling of families of drug users.

Mental Health Awareness Campaign

2004-05

The 'Mental Health Awareness Campaign' is RPPA's public information and education campaign to :

Increase public awareness about the importance of protecting and nurturing the mental health of young people.

Foster recognition that many children have mental health problems that are real, painful, and sometimes severe.

Encourage caregivers to seek early, appropriate treatment and services.

The campaign helps families, educators, health care providers, and young people recognize mental health problems and to seek or recommend appropriate services. It also strives to reduce the stigma associated with mental health problems.

Workshop on 'Personal effectiveness, interpersonal effectiveness and enhancing life skills'

A one day workshop was organized by RPPA on Personal effectiveness, interpersonal effectiveness and enhancing life skills. Dr. Surabhi Purohit was the facilitator of the workshop. A good number of students from all over the city attended the workshop.

Seminar on “Applications of Psychology and enhancing life skills”

held on December 4-5, 2002

RPPA organized a two days seminar on “Applications of Psychology and enhancing life skills”. The seminar was held at the Seminar Hall, Department of Adult and Continuing Education, University of Rajasthan on December 4-5, 2002 from 9.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

The objective of the seminar were to familiarize people with the new explorations in the field of psychology with a special emphasis on enhancing life skills.

During the seminar, well renowned speakers will be covering the following topics-

• Psychological Interventions, techniques and current views
• Enhancing Interviewing skills
• Personal effectiveness, interpersonal effectiveness and enhancing life skills
• Sensitization to adolescent problems

This event was a great success and was very well covered by media.

Inter-College Psychology Quiz-2001

held on October 09, 2001

RPPA recently organized an Inter-College Psychology Quiz for graduating psychology students. This was the very first event of its kind in Jaipur. Teams from prestigious colleges like Maharani College, Maharaja College, International College for Girls and Stani Memorial College participated in the Quiz. The Head of the Psychology Department, University of Rajasthan, Dr. S.C.Prasad presided the event.

The Quiz comprised of three rounds. Multiple choice round, Descriptive round and the Rapid fire round. The maharani College team won the quiz and received a winner's shield, cash prize and merit certificates. International College for Girls team were runner up. They received runner-up shield, cash prize and merit certificates. All other participants were given consolation cash prizes and participation certificates.

All the teachers of the Department of Psychology, University of Rajasthan witnessed the event and heartily appreciated the efforts made by RPPA. Teachers and students from other colleges and schools also enjoyed the event.
